What Was Missing in Yoga Fitness
We’ve been practicing and teaching vinyasa and hatha yoga for over 17 years, and although some classes can be strong and challenging, it just doesn’t quite shape your body like resistance training and cardio. Both of us founders (Carolina & Amanda) are now in our forties, and being in shape is always important to us — it makes us feel good, we move with more ease, and it keeps us healthy. We had both been going to Pilates, working out with trainers, and even trying HIIT workouts and sculpt classes. Sadly, all of those got old fast. They did the trick, but they were all missing something. Nothing felt like that movement meditation that we get in yoga classes, and all those workouts didn’t get us out of our overactive brains or let us blissfully get lost in the moment. The sculpt classes made us bulky and tight, the HIIT workouts got repetitive, and pilates felt disconnected and it took too much time to transitions between exercises. When we created FlowLIFT, we knew that this was the ultimate yoga fitness class.

When you take a FlowLIFT class, you’ll move through one continuous 45-minute flow with zero setup time between sections of the class. It’s sequenced like the most seamless vinyasa class, and the continuous flow is what makes all the difference in the world. There’s no time to drift off or get bored because the constant movement makes the time fly and you become one with the moves and music. The moves themselves are intricate combinations of multi-planar goodness that will leave you feeling muscles you didn’t even know you had. Forget about the stationary bicep curls and burpees. The interchanging combo moves in FlowLIFT will make both your body and brain work in unison, making this a true mind/body workout. The resistance of the light ankle and hand weights (1.5-2.5lb around the ankle and 3lb hand weights) will help you burn fat and turn you into a strong, lean machine. We noticed that sculpt classes use very heavy weights (8-12lb hand weights) and that’s why we got bulky. You don’t need to use heavy weights in this class because you’re spending so much time in plank, all fours, and down dog moves that use your body weight as resistance. The key ingredient, however, is the ankle weights. After just a few weeks we noticed that our thighs and hips slimmed down, our booty lifted, and our upper body got jacked.
