Discovering the ultimate yoga strength workout.
How did you discover FlowLIFT?
I discovered FlowLIFT in the summer of 2018 at the IDEA World Convention in San Diego. I attended the sample FlowLIFT session, and afterwards I was just hooked! It was my FAVORITE yoga strength workout of the entire event, and there were a lot of presenters.
What is your fitness background?
I have always loved movement and working out. I danced for 15 years straight and then became a Barre and Pilates instructor. Also, I love to practice yoga and manage to go to a vinyasa flow class at least twice a week.
What’s your favorite thing about the class?
I love the fact that you must be fully present in the class. It’s a total mind-body workout. Also, I LOVE the combination of strength training and low impact cardio with the fluidity of the movements vinyasa style. It’s the only workout that leaves me drenched in sweat.
What song is on heavy rotation in your playlist lately?
Work- Iggy Azalea
How do you fuel yourself for class? and is there anything you do to recover afterwards?
I need energy before FlowLIFT, so I drink coffee or eat a piece of fruit. To recover after the class: When I teach an early class I drink a protein shake and sometimes when I teach an afternoon/ night I drink an electrolyte beverage.
What do you think are the three most important things you need to stay healthy?
For me the most important thing is to have a BALANCED approach to health and lifestyle in general. Also, to try not to be too hard on yourself and tune in with yourself.
It’s being in nature, it’s drinking more water, it’s switching off from work, it’s spending quality time with your loved ones, it’s moving your body and it’s laughing.
The third thing is to consciously practice gratitude. I believe that it improves your mental health and you become a more positive person.
If you were stuck on an island what’s the one thing you would want with you?
My kindle (with endless battery if it’s possible)
What do you love most about teaching FlowLIFT?
I love that at teaching also means that I kick my own butt! I have fun teaching the class and in return I receive a lot of good vibes and energy from the people that take my class. It’s also amazing to witness the progression of strength and body awareness in the students.
What would you tell someone who is considering taking the one-day FlowLIFT certification?
I would tell that person: YOU WONT REGRET IT! It’s hands down the most complete workout ever. You have many elements in one class: a touch of Vinyasa, Pilates, strength training, cardio. Seriously, what else do you want from a yoga strength workout?
Tell us one fun thing about yourself that a lot of people don’t know about.
I can always lighten up a conversation and make jokes.
