Getting older brings all sorts of revelations, both good and well, let’s say…disruptive. However, turning 40 isn’t what it used to be. The old saying “over the hill” no longer applies. These days, women in their 40’s and 50’s can reach supreme levels of physical fitness that shaves years off their life. There is a difference between chronological age (the years you’ve been alive), and biological age. According to Morgan Levine, PhD, assistant professor of Pathology at the Yale School of Medicine, “biological age is a measurement of your age based on various biomarkers. A number that can change due to lifestyle and other health factors. Your biological age reflects a combination of your genetics, accumulated lifestyle factors, and other determinants such as demographics, diet, and exercise habits.” With a consistent yoga and weight training routine, get ready to turn back the clock.
The average adult loses 3 to 8% of muscles each decade after 30. However, strength training can reverse this loss no matter how old you are. In other words, it’s never too late to whip yourself into shape. According to a Tufts University study, women in their 50’s and 60’s who did a full body strength training workout just twice a week increased muscle mass and showed huge gains in strength. So this leaves us with the ultimate question, with so many workouts out there to choose from, which one is the best use of my time?
FlowLIFT is the Ultimate Yoga and Weight Training Workout
The creators of FlowLIFT are yoga teachers so they are always emphasizing it’s importance. No matter what workout you do, it’s not going to stretch you. Even if it’s a multi-planar functional movement style routine, you’re still going to need to stretch and breathe. Nothing else will bring you this healing combo like yoga will. However, yoga is not enough when it comes to building muscle and reversing that biological age clock. But you better believe that FlowLIFT is!
FlowLIFT is a full body workout every single time. Who has time for leg days and arm days? Most women can barely fit their workout in, so let’s make the best use of our time, right ladies? We use light hand and ankle weights combined with the perfect amount of reps for each full body move. You can check the weight training box and not worry about getting bulky or injuring yourself. If the class is too fast or difficult, it’s very simple to modify: move slower. Even if you end up only doing 3-4 reps for our 15, you’re still progressing. Get past the mental frustration of not being able to do a move and keep going. There is always the next one. With consistency you will see very quickly a huge improvement in your ability to execute FlowLIFT style movements.
Turn back the clock with FlowLIFT. This isn’t just about looking good. This workout is about a more profound state of health and physical fitness.
