The Benefits of Being a Yoga Sculpt Class Junkie

Before FlowLIFT we had yoga, pilates, cross-training, running and cycling. Yoga has always been our rock throughout our twenty plus years of practicing and teaching, but as we got into our thirties and forties we had to find other ways to stay lean and strong. Both Amanda and I juggled our time between running our studio, teaching, taking care of our kids and going to other gyms for cardio and weight training. After a while the result was always the same: we either plateaued or we got bored, so we decided to create our own yoga sculpt class based on all the things we love. After the tough part of creating a class with a concrete format and dynamic moves, we knew we had something special and we, along with our students, were hooked!
How FlowLIFT Stands Apart From Every Other Yoga Sculpt Class
There are many reasons why FlowLIFT is by far the best option for a yoga sculpt class. First of all, we use ankle weights that range from 1.5lb to 2.5lb., which means you’ll be targeting those hard-to-reach areas like the inner thighs, outer glutes and low belly with the added benefit of staying lean instead of bulking up. Secondly, the complex moves in FlowLIFT classes blow the mind away in the best way possible. There’s no wandering off in this class — It’s physically and mentally impossible. In order to execute the moves the mind has to be fully present, carefully instructing the whole body to move together like a well-oiled machine. Lastly, the moves are strategically put together in a smooth and seamless way to create a calming effect on the mind. Most of the time you can’t tell when one move ends and the other begins. This uninterrupted flow keeps you engaged, challenged and working harder than ever before while having fun and releasing stress. The time flies and the 45-minutes are over before you can figure out what just happened.
FlowLIFT Classes Give You a High Unlike No Other
The moves done with low weights and high reps combined with a little heat (82 degrees) and loud music has an addictive quality that keeps you coming back for more. Every move is a full body move and the class doesn’t have a “bootcamp feel.” You won’t find any stationary bicep curls, burpees or mountain climbers here. The complex moves improve motor coordination and agility while giving your mind a workout. You’ll sweat more than you do in other classes and be inspired to keep trying hard so you can master control over your body and mind. We know that exercise releases endorphins, your pleasure center hormones, but FlowLIFT must release extra because we feel better than ever after this class. Since creating FlowLIFT, it’s become our main form of exercise and we’re in the best shape of life. There’s no doubt that it’s a tough workout, but the benefits are huge. We never plateau, we never get bored and we’re addicted to how makes us feel – powerful, strong, and badass.
It’s About the Way the Moves are Put Together
Anyone can take a bunch of moves, toss them up in the air and hope they land in good order. However, a producing a perfectly choreographed class takes years and years of experience. When Amanda and I create the FlowLIFT classes we apply our twenty plus years of vinyasa yoga sequencing into the choreography. The class is that much more effective because of the way the moves are put together. It’s about what you’re doing, but even more so about the order in which you do it that gives you faster results. Our goal is to improve motor coordination by creating a chain of movements that require the use of several limbs or body parts combined in a manner that is well timed, smooth, and efficient. You’ll increase your mental toughness, burn more fat and create leaner, longer muscle if you do FlowLIFT at least three times a week.
If You Give Up You Lose
Quitting is easy and excuses have many disguises. We’ve heard it all, and in the end, quitting too soon is the reason why most people never change. They say it takes about 66 days to form a new habit, which means that if you truly want to make big changes, such as reshaping your body and being healthier, you have to put in at least two months of hard, unwavering work. At times you’ll feel like it’s just too hard, so it’s easier to say, “F this, I’m quitting!” and moving on to something else. The problem is that the next thing won’t last either and before you know it you’ll be be getting on and off the fitness carousel again and again. Commit to getting outside your comfort zone and be vigilant with your list of excuses. “You don’t get something for nothing” is our favorite line.
FlowLIFT will reshape your body. It sucks everything in and leans everything out. It also increases resilience and makes you tougher than ever. You’ll release stress and end every class with a feeling of deep accomplishment. If you can keep this up for at least 8 weeks you’ll be golden and you’ll have formed a healthy habit that you can turn to any time you need it. FlowLIFT will become your happy pill.
