Everyone else is doing it. It’s no secret that fusion yoga workouts have HIIT the market like a ton of bricks over the last few years. We’ve seen everyone from Shiva Rae, Sadie Nardini, Core Power, and even kundalini teachers jumping on the fitness bandwagon. America is obsessed with fitness and what better way to approach it than though yoga. In 2016 we also decided to take a stab at a fusion yoga workout and after many months of trial and error we arrived at what we now call “the most addictive workout” we’ve ever done — FlowLIFT.
So what makes our class better than the rest?
1. The Moves
All moves are not created equal and we wanted a class that didn’t build off isolation exercises restricted to one plane of movement. We also didn’t want a class that resembled a boot camp. Bye bye static bicep curls, jumping jacks, burpees, and long holds in warrior 2. FlowLIFT moves are fusion yoga moves that engage your entire body while using light ankle and hand weights. Most moves are done at 10-15 reps and each type of move seamless blends into the next for a continuous, non-stop 45-minute flow that leaves you drenched in sweat.
2. Range of Motion
Some of the moves in this class are tricky and require more range of motion. However, don’t be discouraged. Increasing range of motion takes time, but every time you do a FlowLIFT class you’ll see big improvements in balance, stability, flexility and agility.
3. The Toning Power of Ankle Weights
Our key ingredient is our magical ankle weights. They come in two sizes: 1.5lb and 2.5lb. Wearing the ankle weights during the entire class targets your core like never before. Every movement is initiated from the core and extends through the muscles of the legs and feet. One of the first things you’ll notice after doing our fusion yoga workout will be your newfound core strength. Usually after just a few short months you’ll start to see your abs peeking through and your legs will start to show more muscle tone and definition.
4. Your Mind Gets a Workout Too with Our Yoga Fusion Workout
You can’t drift off while doing a FlowLIFT class. The complexity of the moves require your brain to stay engaged the whole time, and who doesn’t want to keep their minds sharp and alert?
5. No Setup Time Equals Less Wasted Time and it Gets You in the Stress Burning Zone
Most fusion yoga workouts that we’ve done requires set up time between moves or switching equipment often. They just didn’t have the same type of seamless flow found in vinyasa yoga classes. We felt that it was important to include that in our workout. When you can flow through without pausing it feels as if time flies, you get in the zone, and the stress begins to melt away. There’s no better feeling than when you’re moving through the series at a steady pace, feeling the groove and letting go of everything else.
