Among the many things that make FlowLIFT stand out from other yoga sculpt classes is the moves. You can’t find moves like anywhere else. The full body moves are creative, they make your brain work, and they’re perfectly sequenced to crate a class that is both effective and fun. No time is wasted changing equipment or setting up poses. All the FlowLIFT routines are expertly crafted by our founders, two vinyasa yoga instructors who have been teaching for over twenty years. We’ve compiled a list of our best moves to give you a little taste of that FlowLIFT yoga sculpt magic.
Side Hip Hikes
Work your core, legs and glutes with this all fours kicking move. The dipping motion of the hips targets your obliques to help you slim the midline and the kicks work those hard to reach places in the legs and booty. Do these for fifteen reps on each side using 1.5lb or 2.5 ankle weights.
Lizard Yoga Sculpt Push-Ups
This one is a doozie! You’ll be working on flexibility, agility and strength all in one move. Take your time with it, be patient and modify wherever you need to. The sweep through will force you to use your core so much that you’ll surely feel it the next day. Since the level of difficulty is significantly higher than the first move, stick to just ten reps of this on each side.
Military Updog
This version of the military pushup has you doing a little bit of flexibility work with the updog backbend. In addition, you’ll also be getting a lot of core activation as you drop your body to the ground and lift yourself back up. Do this move for ten reps on each side and remember to breathe.
Downdog Straddle
Stretch and strengthen the legs and core with this fun move that begins in downdog splits. We typically do this type of combination right before the floor series to prep the body for the more intricate poses. The great thing about this one is the seated straddle stretch. Do this for ten reps on each side while breathing in through the nose and out the mouth.
Tootsie Rolls
This is one of our favorites! You’re required to roll from the front of the mat to the back of the mat smoothly by using your core and back muscles. The double kick using the same leg will burn out the quads and glutes in the best way possible. Yoga sculpt moves are not all created equal, and this is the perfect example. The complexity of this moves requires you to be in the present moment. You have to sync up the mind with the body and move precisely at a steady pace. Since this is one of our floor moves you’ll be doing fifteen reps on each side.
The Same Format with Different Moves
As we write this article we have already forgotten about these five yoga sculpt moves. FlowLIFT classes always maintain the same format, but the moves change every week. That’s the beauty of the class. You’ll never plateau, you’ll never have to memorize moves and you’ll constantly be challenging your body’s muscles to grow and get stronger. The result of these types of moves done at a steady pace with ankle and hand weights crates a lean, strong physique resembling a dancer’s body.
