Most Americans will experience lower back pain during their lives. Whether it’s chronic or just an acute brush with it, our lumbar spine is going to ache at one point in time. A weak core and tightness in the hips and spine are often prime suspects in causing low back discomfort. A regular yoga sculpt routine is a very effective way to build the strength and mobility needed to balance out this crucial area of the body.
We always recommend clearing any new exercise routine with your doctor, especially when it’s online. If your doc and PT say it’s safe to exercise, then it’s time to give FlowLIFT a try! FlowLIFT is inspired by yoga sculpt but is in a class of its own. Begin with our LiteLIFT and XpressLITE classes and skip the weights for now. It’s time to introduce your mind and body to the perfect workout and you may just be able to kiss low back pain goodbye forever.
3 Ways Yoga Sculpt Eases Lower Back Pain
FlowLIFT Integrates the Entire Core in Every Single Move
Our yoga sculpt class utilizes full body moves throughout the entire 45 and 25 minute classes. We don’t isolate specific areas. We call upon the entire body to work in a systematic way to execute every exercise. Start slow and simple to safely flow through the class.
The complex system of muscles that make up your core sometimes forget how to work together the way the are meant to. This interconnected system suffers when we sit or stand too much and participate in activities that don’t work then body in a functional way. For example, if you like running or spinning, you’re never moving out of one plane of motion. No matter what, you’re creating imbalance in the system. They’re great forms of exercise yes, but far inferior to FlowLIFT. Especially when it comes to addressing lower back issues. There is no better way than FlowLIFT to develop balanced strength in the entire core.
Increase Hip and Lower Back Mobility With Our Yoga Sculpt Class
Lower back pain can arise from a lack of mobility in the hips and spine. When we don’t move our hips and pelvis in all the ways available to us, we get muscle tightness and joint stiffness. The hip joint has the ability to do a variety of things: flexion, extension, rotation, circumduction, adduction and abduction. FlowLIFT brings the hips through all of these movements every single class.
Every time you take a FlowLIFT class you are moving the joints through all of their available motions. When we move our hips in all the ways, our lower back wins. The muscles that support the pelvis, hips and lumbar spine become stronger. The nervous system gets used to all of these movements and allow the muscles to accommodate them. Both strength and flexibility improves in this crucial juncture of our bodies. When you feel ready for them, add the ankle weights to increase this balance even more.
Different Levels To Meet Your Specific Needs
Our full length regular FlowLIFT class can be a little overwhelming at first. This is why we have the LiteLIFT and XpressLIFT. When you sign up for the monthly membership, you’ll gain access to the online classes page. Here you will find several pages of classes that you can do anytime.
At the top of the online classes page, there is a filter to choose what type of class you would like to try. If you have been dealing with lower back pain for a while or are coming out of an acute situation, it’s best to try our LiteLIFT classes first. They incorporate simpler yet just as effective movements. There are also less reps of each move. Make sure that you clear it with your doc or PT to do online exercise classes.
One of our many mottos is “it’s better to do a move slow and strong than fast and sloppy.” Take your time through each move! Even if you don’t get all the reps in, you are teaching your body a new style of integration. The more you practice, the more familiar and comfortable it will become. Gradually build the strength and mobility needed to eradicate your lower back pain.
FlowLIFT is The Best of Yoga Sculpt
There are tons of yoga sculpt classes out there that you may find easier to do. However these classes don’t have the sophisticated moves that your low back will benefit from. Start with LiteLIFT and XpressLITE and stick with it! You don’t ever need to “graduate” to the regular FlowLIFT classes. You can stick with the LITEs forever. Get ready to experience a strong core, open hips and a pain free lower back!
