Keep hearing about yoga sculpt and wondering what all the hype is about? We’ve got the ultimate guide for you so you’re ready to throw down your mat and jump on the bandwagon. First and foremost, not all yoga sculpt classes are created equal. You’ll find many variations and permutations that combine yoga with strength training, but finding a class that resonates with you is important.
What Makes FlowLIFT the Superior Yoga Sculpt Class
There are three key components that set FlowLIFT apart from all the rest of the yoga sculpt workouts out there. The first is the type of moves. The creativity and thoughtfulness that goes into each FlowLIFT move is sure to blow your mind and reshape your body. The days of isolated movements are long gone. Every FlowLIFT move is a full body move that integrates coordination, agility and that all too important mind-body connection. Second is the use of ankle weights throughout the whole class. Most yoga sculpt classes we went to before creating FlowLIFT used heavy dumbbells (5-10lbs) and no one used ankle weights. Low weights with high reps builds long, lean muscle, and using light ankle weights (1.5-2.5lb) targets hard-to-reach areas like the hips and thighs. Lastly, the order of the moves ensures maximum efficiency without burning out any particular body part. The type of moves, the ankle weights and the format of the class create a magical combination that hooks you in and keeps you excited about working out.
Special FlowLIFT Classes Just for Beginners
FlowLIFT beginners should slower and not worry about keeping up with the teacher if they’re doing the regular classes. Moving at your own pace will make you feel better about completing the entire class and keep you aware of maintaining proper alignment so you don’t injure yourself. It’s okay to do half the reps or to modify the moves to suit your level of fitness. The great thing about FlowLIFT is that we offer a LiteLIFT and XpressLITE class series that’s perfect for beginners. The moves are less complicated, you’ll move slower and be doing less reps. Every month you’ll get two new 25-min XpressLITE class; The regular FlowLIFT class is 45 minutes long. Once you build up enough strength and stamina you’ll be on your way to doing the regular classes.
Everything You Need for Online FlowLIFT Classes
To do FlowLIFT you’ll need a comfortable outfit to sweat in. We like to wear yoga pants, biker shorts and even sweatpants with a sports bra, t-shirt or bodysuit. Use a yoga mat and have water and a sweat towel nearby. As a beginner you can do the entire workout with no weights; That’s what we do when we travel, and it’s still an amazing workout. If you’re ready though, we suggest starting with 1.5lb ankle weights and 2lb hand weights. Got sensitive knees? We’ve got the perfect knee pad to keep you comfortable through the all fours moves that target your glutes, core and thighs. It’s tick, soft, squishy and it stays put no matter what you’re doing.
Be Patient and Avoid Comparisons
One of the most important things to keep in mind as a new FlowLIFT babe is to simply be patient and avoid comparing yourself to other students. Everyone’s process is different and it takes time for the mind to adjust to the intricacy of the moves. Take your time, be kind and enjoy the journey.
