When we created FlowLIFT in 2016 we wanted a workout that was different from all the other yoga sculpt with weights classes. We noticed that other yoga sculpt classes use heavy weights and no one was using ankle weights. Flowing as smoothly as a vinyasa yoga class was also really important to us. All the sculpt classes we previously attended felt broken up and we wasted a lot of time setting up for the different types of moves. Our 45-minute yoga sculpt with weights workout uses light hand and ankle weights so you don’t bulk up, smooth transitions so there’s no wasted time, and compound moves that will blow your mind.
How FlowLIFT Started
In the beginning our class was called YogaLIFT, but it was confusing to both workout junkies and hardcore yogis. The workout crew wasn’t interested in doing yoga, let alone yoga with weights. On the other hand, the yogis were upset about the class not resembling yoga at all. As a result we changed the name to FlowLIFT. The only connection to yoga in this workout is the “flow” of it, the five vinyasas (plank, chaturanga, updog, downdog), and a few standing combo moves that begin in high lunge, warrior 2 and half moon. The rest is where the magic happens. FlowLIFT has everything you need all rolled into one. Cardio, strength training, agility and flexibility moves that leave you sore in all the right places. There are no isolated movements in this class. Every move is a full body move and every move is also essentially a core move. You’ll find squats, lunges, flows on all fours, flying moves and combinations that make your brain work.
Yoga Sculpt With Weights Comes in Many Shapes and Sizes
There are many variations of yoga sculpt with weights, which is why we wanted to create the best version of it. Both Carolina and Amanda have bee teaching vinyasa yoga for twenty years, which means the sequencing techniques are exceptional. An effective workout is not just about the types of moves, but rather the order of the moves that has the most impact. If you haven’t tried FlowLIFT yet, sign up to get the first two weeks free.
