Fusion yoga has been hitting the studios hard over the last couple of years and you’ll find many versions of it depending on where you live. The idea is to mix yoga poses with resistance training, often incorporating dumbbells and plyometric moves. It’s not easy to get the perfect balance of both, but we believe FlowLIFT encompasses all that and then some. Keep reading to learn how to become a fusion yoga pro!
Push Yourself to Work Your Hardest
One of the most important aspects for a fusion yoga student or teacher is working to the max. We know it’s not easy to push yourself, especially when you’re working out at home. However, if you aim to work your hardest in every single class you’ll get faster results and feel a lot better. In FlowLIFT we use both dumbbells and ankle weights, which means you’ll already be working harder than in other fusion yoga classes. Keep going even when you think you’re too tired and don’t give up!
Become an Alignment Expert
In both yoga and fitness training, having proper alignment can mean the difference between a feel-good workout and possible injury. Get familiar with aligning the joints in lunges, squats and other standing moves such as warrior 3, standing splits and half moon. The knee joint should always stack over the ankle joint and the entire leg should be engaged from the core to the foot. Keep the abdominals strong throughout the entire class and avoid “snapping” the joints in kicking or punching moves. The breath is another key component. No matter how winded you are try to maintain an even flow of breath so you never run out of fuel.
Take the One-Day FlowLIFT Training
The ultimate way to become a fusion yoga pro is to take the one-day training. The next one in on August 14, 2021 with master trainers Magdalena and Lori. During this 8-hour training you’ll learn everything from body mechanics to the FlowLIFT class format. You’ll be challenging yourself both physically and mentally. We always say there’s no better workout than teaching FlowLIFT. You’ll reach new levels of fitness and gain a deep sense of accomplishment when you’ve mastered the art of teaching this challenging class.
Teach Yourself or Your Friends One Class a Week
Whether you ever teach public classes doesn’t matter. Taking the FlowLIFT certification program will prepare you for doing your own workouts, and that means you’ll have the ability to teach your friends and family too. Teaching will help you keep the momentum going and you’ll improve every time you do it. Kicking your own butt is a skill that comes in pretty handy when you’re traveling or can’t make it to the studio.
Teach Group FlowLIFT Classes Part Time
Want a fun side job? Teaching FlowLIFT is it! This class gives you a jolt of adrenaline and it melts all your worries away. There’s no feeling like the one you get when you teach to a class full of students. Being in the front of the room leading everyone through one of the sweatiest workouts of your life feels amazing. You’ll work harder than ever and become an inspiration to all. Getting paid to work out is a win-win situation.
